Introduction

Design firms in Singapore rely on mid-level managers to connect big-picture strategies with day-to-day implementation. Yet, many of these professionals lack structured support for leadership development. The Future Leaders Fellowship, organised by DBCS and supported by DesignSingapore, is a leadership training programme designed specifically for design and innovation managers. Over three months, participants will gain actionable tools, personalised coaching, and strategic insight to thrive in leadership roles.

Empowering the Next Generation of Design Managers

According to a McKinsey report, investing in middle management boosts employee engagement and business performance by over 20%.

Programmes like this help design-led organisations grow internal capabilities, reduce leadership bottlenecks, and enhance resilience.

Inspired by global examples such as Lego’s “middle-out” leadership strategy, the Future Leaders Fellowship supports the growth of Singapore’s design sector by nurturing a new wave of confident, capable managers.
